Herbal Heated Salt packs – Much like hot stone and even better! Special Chinese herbs assist in relieving tenseness and for detoxification.
Gua Sha – This well-known TCM massage technique utilizes a traditionally-made device from jade or horn. Gua Sha is used on the meridians to clear stagnation and promote blood circulation and sweat secretion. It can reduce blood pressure, assist with detoxification, remove exercise-related toxins, reduce post-exercise muscle soreness, and enhance recovery.

Traditional Chinese Massage (TCM)

TCM is about balancing your energies, unblocking areas of energy barriers, strengthening areas of weakness, and calming down overactive regions of your body. In TCM massage, the focus is on energetic pathways throughout the body, known as meridians. These pathways interconnect with the body's organs plus particular regions of the body where energy is stored. Pressure points along the path are stimulated via massage. These same pressure points are stimulated through acupuncture using fine needles. TCM massage can utilize a variety of techniques in the process.

Techniques can vary from direct finger pressure on specific points to various types of pressure along the meridians, which may include gliding, rolling (stick massage), palpating, pinching, and pulling (Tuina), vibrating, tapping, beating, and so on.

Hong Kong Tuina

The Hong Kong-Style Massage adds new elements to traditional Chinese massage techniques for detoxification and pain relief.

Before applying pressure to the points, the muscles are massaged to relax the area, then pressure is gradually applied to the target points and in this way can go in deeper and more thoroughly.

Hong Kong-Style Message incorporates oils and can include back walking, herbal lotions – heated herbal packs and acupressure can be added for powerful stimulation of the pressure points.

Japanese Health Massage

The Japanese Health Massage focuses on blood and lymph circulation, with massage along the meridians and less emphasis on treating pain.

It is highly beneficial for eliminating fatigue, enhancing vitality and youthfulness, and improved mood.

A variety of scented oils can be added for an aromatherapeutic effect. This massage modality is also beneficial for

post-menopause symptoms.

We offer therapeutic massage that is capable of providing significant pain relief and other benefits; however, we are not providing treatment that is a substitute for medical intervention. As such, if during the course of a massage, a condition is discovered that needs medical attention and massage is contra-indicated, the massage will be immediately discontinued.

By the use of our services, you agree to hold Healing Garden harmless for any injury caused by your failure to report a condition that contra-indicates massage treatment.

While our massage can provide significant pain relief and other benefits, expectations need to be reasonable. If you are in need of a doctor's attention, go to a doctor. Do not expect a massage to help when you need medical intervention. If your doctor has recommended massage as an adjuct to their treatment, we will be more than happy to help. Again, as a massage client, it is your responsibility and your decision to get a massage. Obviously, massage is not going to help if you have a broken bone. If you are in severe pain because you just injured your back while lifting something heavy, for example, you need a doctor to check you out.
